Beginning Birding OPEN DAY 2024

Beginning Birding Open Day 2024

We will be holding the Beginning Birding Open Day at Wildgoose, near Grimley, again this year – Saturday 25 May, 10:00–15:00 – providing an enjoyable introductory experience to local people considering taking up birdwatching, and showing them how they can get involved and make a difference by taking part in one or more of our conservation projects.

There will again be guided walks around the lovely Wildgoose nature reserve, ringing demonstrations and a chance to learn more about our projects and how to get involved. The main addition this year is that the Birders’ Store and a couple of optical suppliers will be with us, displaying and demonstrating their gear. Attendees will be able to take lunch, or coffee and cakes, in Bonnie’s Tea Room, the excellent café at Wildgoose.

We would like to run a plant stall again this time, so if you intend to grow your own tomatoes or other veg from seed why not grow a couple of extra ones and donate them to us to sell? It would be much appreciated. If you would like to assist with this event, please contact me using the details below. Many thanks.

Please put the date in your diary now and, closer to the time, invite interested family members, including children, friends and neighbours to attend. Thanks.
