An evening trip to Cannock Chase

Strange noises at dusk !! An evening trip to Cannock Chase.

Saturday 25th June 2022

Free to all

Meet in the car park of the Tudor Rose on the A540 (close to the Two Mills junction with the Welsh Road) at 4.30pm.

Ever wanted to hear the magical ’churring’ call of the Nightjar or the strange noise of a ’roding’ Woodcock then this is the trip for you. We have an evening meet to listen on the heathland at Cannock Chase. The ’Chase’ is the smallest area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on mainland Britain. It is best known for its open heathland and pine forests. This mix of heathland and trees makes it a great site to see these two lovely birds together with an opportunity of seeing Tree Pipit and Wood Lark. Experienced bird watchers will be on hand to help you find and identify these birds.

Booking is essential by either ringing 07769673018 or emailing wirralrspblocalgroup@gmail.com
