Group Information
Membership provides our newsletter, advance information of all events, free entry to illustrated talks and the opportunity to see lots of birds
Indoor Meetings are held at St Anne’s Church, Parish Hall, Church Lane, Shevington, except where stated. Talks start at 7.45pm, with the hall open from 7.15pm. Non-members are most welcome at indoor events, £3.00 pay at the door, so you can bring along a friend anytime. The fee is deductible from the membership fee for those who decide to join.
Social Events are arranged during the year and are charged according to cost. Venues may vary, check the website and newsletter.
Outdoor Events: for all full day outdoor events contact the leader on the evening before to check if changes have been made. Such changes to venues and possibly dates are made to suit changed conditions. New members are always welcome, there is no charge unless the location visited charges for entrance. Transport is by car, contact the leader to arrange a lift, share fuel costs. Dogs are not permitted on any outdoor events.
Meeting Points: are indicated on the programme, check carefully as they do vary.
Newletter: all members are encouraged to submit articles of wildlife interest, please submit your copy to the editor preferably by e-mail.
Safety: Birdwatching is no more dangerous than country walking, but the following precautions should be taken at all outdoor events
Are you fit enough for the proposed outing, if in doubt don’t go. If you require medication, ensure you have it with you. Bring warm and waterproof clothing including appropriate footwear. Bring adequate food and drink. Ensure you have the leaders mobile number if you get separated call them. Be careful near hazards, stay on the paths and take care on roads you won’t be watching the traffic. Be safe and Enjoy your birdwatching. Programme of Events 2025-2026
