Car trip Pennington Flash 7 April

The Group had a very successful trip to Pennington Flash on Sunday 7 April, with over 20 members and guests – and the rain was courteous enough to hold off till after lunch when we had returned to our cars. We saw nearly 50 species, some highlights were:

Cetti’s warbler showing well for a good 10 seconds, a first sighting for some of our newer birders!

2 Willow Tits from the Bunting hide, these red-listed birds made frequent visits to the feeding station viewed from the Bunting hide

Splendid views of four Bullfinches at the Bunting hide

2 Cormorants battling over a rather large fish that a third was desperate to squeeze down its throat.

First sightings this year of Swallows & Sand Martins
