The trees in the park have a good range of woodland birds, including Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Goldcrest, tits and finches. It is worth walking down along the river, where there are Kingfishers, Dippers and Grey Wagtails as well as ducks and moorhens, and Peregrine Falcons nest regularly on Pear Mill (turn left at the bridge).
