Although there can be a lot of people, there are always a lot of good birds to be seen walking round the park. You will usually see Great Crested Grebe, as well as a good number of duck – Goosander are regular as well as Goldeneye and Pochard in winter. There are usually lots of small birds about, with big flocks of Siskin in winter, singing Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps in spring and usually a Song Thrush in the trees at the far end. If you are lucky you may spot a Kingfisher, and noisy Ring-Necked Parakeets usually haunt the car park, where it is worth looking at the feeders for tits and finches.
