Sharpenhoe Clappers

Trip report to Sharpenhoe Clappers on Thursday 20th of July.

Our final walk of the 2022/2023 season saw 13 members turn up on beautiful morning. We only managed 10 species of bird, all of them predictable, so we were able to concentrate on the main purpose of the day.

Butterflies were in abundance, especially Gatekeepers in three figures. Of the target species we saw lots of Chalkhill Blues and two each of Dark Green Fritillary (late worn examples) and Large Skipper. Fifteen species were seen in all, and everybody left happy at lunch time.

See you all next year.
