Pagham Harbour

Trip report for visit to Pagham Harbour on 16th of April.

Twelve Stevenage members joined the Hitchin and Letchworth coach trip on a good dry day.

On the fleet pool Black Tailed Godwits (in summer plumage) and Avocets were seen, plus Shoveller, Teal, Mallards and a male Garganey.

Walking to the sea there was Whitethroat, Cettis Warblers, Chiff Chaffs, Willow Warbler, Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers and Linnets either seen or heard.

At the harbour front it was surprising to see hundreds of Mediterranean Gulls and Sandwich Terns with the usual Black Headed and Herring Gulls.

The highlights for most were close views of a Spotted Redshank, Whimbrel, and a female Kestrel in a nest box.

61 species were seen on the day.
