Fingringhoe Wick

Trip report for visit to Fingringhoe Wick on Sunday 28th of April.

9 members joined the coach trip to this Essex Wildlife reserve with the weather greatly improving during the day.

Around the reserve the warblers were calling everywhere with Chiff Chaffs, Blackcaps, Whitethroats, Lesser Whitethroats, Cettis Warblers, Reed Warblers and Garden Warblers with some seen well. A Cuckoo was also heard calling and a few Swallows flew over.

Around the estuary a Marsh Harrier, Curlew, Oystercatchers, Whimbrels, Grey Plover, Black Tailed Godwits, Dunlin and Shelduck were seen.

The highlight of the day for most was the many Nightingales, with a few close views for some.

A nice coffee in the visitor centre, and a very good day with over 50 species seen.
