Fairlands Valley Lakes

Trip report for visit to Fairlands Valley Lakes on Thursday 14th of December.

Sixteen members met for a local walk around the Fairland Valley Lakes in Stevenage.

On the main lake Great Crested Grebes, Black Headed Gulls, Common Gulls, Cormorants and a Heron was seen.

Along the paths around the other lakes there was a few Goldcrests, Song Thrushes, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Chaffinches, Goldfinches and the usual tit flocks.

On a small pond at the north end there were four Teal, a few Moorhens and a single Grey Wagtail.

Returning to the car park a few of us heard some Fieldfares and Redwings flying over.

A really good walk with 34 species seen or heard.
