Biggleswade Common

Trip report for visit to Biggleswade Common on 17th of April.

On a nice but sometimes windy morning seven members met for a walk across the common.

Beside the river Long Tailed Tits, Sedge Warblers, Common Terns, Little Egrets, Great Crested Grebes nest building were seen, and a Reed Warbler (heard).

Across the fields Meadow Pipits, Skylarks, Linnets, Whitethroats, and Chiff Chaffs were seen, and Yellowhammers were heard.

It was nice to see Swallows, Sand Martins and House Martins had returned, with the highlight of the morning being two Corn Buntings calling from a fence post.

A really good morning with 46 species seen.
