Trip report for morning visit to Amwell on Thursday 26th of October.

There were 7 people on the walk. Although it was drizzling at the start, the weather dried up during our walk. We saw a total of 48 species, including Wigeon, Teal, Gadwall etc. One of the highlights was 30+ male Pochards and 1 male Red Crested Pochard on Holly Cross Lake. Trevor saw a Kingfisher, as well as Marsh Tit, in trees in a cottage garden. The sun came out as we headed back and we were lucky enough to see 2 Treecreepers.

Everyone said they had a good morning’s birding.
