About South Somerset Local Group

We were established in 1979 and currently have over 200 members. We pride ourselves on being a friendly group of people who appreciate not only birds, but all aspects of natural history.

Our newsletters (published in February and September) give full details of our programme. Indoor meetings, with illustrated talks, regularly attract audiences of 90 members (with wheelchair access) and are held on the third Thursday of each month from September to May. Regular birdwatching field trips, for both beginners and the more experienced, visit sites in Somerset, Devon and Dorset.

We look forward to welcoming you to our group – all events are open to the general public.

Please contact us for further information on group activities and events.
