Future field trips

Sunday August 21 – Moore Nature Reserve

Moore Nature Reserve is a reserve in the village of Moore in Halton, Cheshire. Created from an area which had included a sand quarry and farmland, and run by FCC Environment who operate the nearby Appley landfill site, the reserve covers 200 acres (81 ha) and is considered one of the best places in Cheshire for birdwatching .

Sunday September 11 – Hoylake and West Kirby

Through the tunnel to the Wirral for our late summer field trip, with a slightly later start than usual to benefit from the tides.

Location & time: We meet at 11.00 am, parking on Hoylake Promenade, off the King’s Gap roundabout.

Sunday October 9 – Fairhaven Lake and Shore

Autumn will be with us as we view the bird rich Ribble estuary from a different angle.

Location & time: Free parking on the roadside, near the lake, where we meet at 10:00 am.

Sunday November 20 – Martin Mere WWT

Our winter visitors will be well settled in by the time of our November field trip, so why not come along and enjoy the spectacle at Martin Mere WWT. Please note that there is an admission charge to the reserve for non WWT members.

Location & time: Meet in the car park at 10.00 am.

Sunday December 11 – Marshside RSPB

With winter and the approach of Christmas, we stay close to home for our December field trip. You will need warm clothing and a hot drink!

Location & time: Meet in the Marshside car park, opposite the junction of Marshside Road with the Coastal Road at 11.00 am.
