A few miles inland from Southport, another Lancashire and Merseyside Wildlife Trust managed site  which has recently received a major upgrade with a new visitor centre and cafe.

Formed from disused and now flooded gravel pits, surrounded by deciduous woodland with hides around the meres, this is a reserve which attracts both wildfowl and woodland birds
