May Trips

On Sunday 19th May we have a morning walk round Hosehill Lake and along the Kennet and Avon canal. We be looking for woodland and water birds. Hosehill Lake is a BBOWT reserve. The target bird for Hosehill is Nightingale who I hope will still be singing, otherwise they might be very difficult to find. Meet 9:30am in Sheffield Bottom Lock car park, RG7 4AJ.

On Tuesday 21st May we will visit a new site to us, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust Hook Common reserve. This is an area of heather, rough grass and woodland to the west of Hook. It is home to a number of woodland and heathland species and we are particularly hoping to find Willow Warbler and Tree Pipit here. Meet in the long layby on the south side of the A30 to the west of Hook, park at the Hook end rather than The Hogget pub end, RG27 9JJ. Meet here at 10am.
