Lackford Lakes (Suffolk Wildlife Trust) – Sunday 15 May 2022

A good day out, 72 bird species identified.

After a comfortable coach journey and tea stop we were welcomed to the reserve. The group thoroughly enjoyed the visitor centre for its hospitality and upstairs gallery overlooking a pond. One or two lucky people got to glimpse kingfisher, nightingale and cuckoo! Some birds were only heard, water rail, sedge and cettis warbler, common whitethroat and garden warbler. Other wildlife spotted included stoat, wood mouse and orange tip butterfly.
