Brent Reservoir Birdwalk – 14th January 2024

Blow away the cobwebs and join us on the first Brent Reservoir birdwalk of the new year. The reservoir is looking a bit different at the moment as it has been drained to allow essential repairs to be made.

The least visited of the two Welsh harp hides, the Heron Hide, after de-silting and reed cutting earlier in the year and now the low water levels has been given a new lease of life. Water Rail are regularly seen and Green Sandpiper feed in the exposed pools. Access to both this hide and the main hide however is extremely muddy at the moment so wellies are highly recommended

The walk usually lasts 2-3hrs finishing up in the bird hide. Paths can be very muddy at this time of year so suitable footwear is recommended. There are no toilet facilities on site.

Location: Meet by the bridge at Cool Oak Lane, West Hendon, NW9. Nearest NR Station West Hendon. Several bus routes (32, 83, 142, 183) serve West Hendon Broadway, which is only a short walk away.

Time: 10am

Please call Bob Husband (020 8441 8742) if you would like to join us
