About North Staffs Local Group
Welcome to the RSPB North Staffs Local Group website. We are a well-established group with around 150 members.
The main activities of our group are birdwatching, field visits and indoor talks on topics of wildlife interest. Every month , from September to May, we have an indoor meeting with illustrated talks given by invited speakers. These usually attract around 60 people. They are held in the excellent facilities of the Wade Conference Centre/Medical Institute on Hartshill Road, a modern and comfortable disabled-friendly venue with a large free carpark (https://wadeconferencecentre.co.uk/).
During the season we also organise six full-day wildlife watching trips by luxury coach to reserves outside the local area. These trips take place on Sundays and have a number of pick-up points and a comfort stop on both outward and homeward journeys. The coach trips are suitable whether you are an experienced birder or a novice and our friendly group will help you get the most out of the outings. In addition, each season, experienced local birders lead eight leisurely morning walks of up to two and a half hours on reserves and in parks in the area around Stoke-on-Trent. If you do not have binoculars we have three pairs to lend, free of charge for the day, on a first come first served basis, to anyone who would like to take part in any of our outside activities.

Meeting times and costs
Indoor meetings start 7.30pm. There is an annual charge of £10.00 to join the Local Group. Local Group Members £4.00, Non Members £8.00, Children under 16 (accompanied by an adult) Free.
