2023 AGM & Montiaghs Field Trip

Join us for our first indoor meeting since early 2020:

We are meeting Tuesday 26th September (7pm) at Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church, Lisburn: Google maps location

This is a necessary business meeting, but we would also like your input to plan activities for the coming months.

We would especially like to hear from, or even meet in person, the 74 individuals in Lagan Valley (and anyone else from adjacent constituencies) who signed Hannah Bourne-Taylor’s parliamentary petition. In Northern Ireland, disappointed that this petition was not the success it could have been, we are exploring options and beginning to take small steps to try to improve the situation for our local swifts.

On Thursday 28th September we will visit RSPB Montiaghs Moss. Meet at the Montiaghs car park at 10.30am. We will explore the reserve until around 2pm so if you will be hungry before then please bring a packed lunch. The nearest toilet facilities are at Portmore Lough around three miles away.

Directions from Aghalee: travelling on the Brankinstown Road towards (but not arriving at) Portmore, look for the soft verges warning sign, then turn left on Montiaghs Road – The name sign for this road is missing. Alternatively, from Aghalee travel to Aghagallon and follow the Whitehall Road until you reach the Derryhirk Inn at Montiaghs Road.
