Lancaster Swift City

We are a group of Lancaster residents and volunteers working to save Swifts in our community in conjunction with RSPB Lancaster local group. Here is what we do:

• We try to raise awareness of these amazing birds and how we can help them.
• We have a Swift City charter signed by local politicians, residents and conservation organisations.
• We set up Swift Streets, with multiple boxes as Swifts like to nest together.
• We are campaigning for Swift bricks to be added to new developments.
• We survey the birds and try to protect existing nest sites.
• We work with the Mens’ Hub and other organisations to make nest boxes.
