Swift City
We are working to make Lancaster a Swift City, a place where these amazing birds, which are at risk of extinction here, can find the nesting places and food that they need. Find out more about Swifts and what we can do to help them on our Swift City page.
Morecambe Bay Health Festival
We are pleased to support the Bay Health Festivals. Research has shown that spending time in nature has a really positive effect on health and wellbeing.
Having a sense of the different seasons and learning more about the wildlife around us can be a great way to chill out and skip some screen time.
In this area we are lucky to have some fantastic countryside around us and some brilliant wildlife sites. Why not get out and explore using our list of Local Wild Places or visit our incredible Leighton Moss nature reserve, which is just 15 minutes from Lancaster.
