This is the website of the Hitchin & Letchworth Local Group. RSPB local groups are a great way to meet friendly, like-minded people in your area while learning more about birds and wildlife. We have a full programme of indoor and outdoor meetings for the 2023-24 season. We also have a programme of local Spring Walks for April, May and June 2024.

Upcoming Coach Trip

9 June: Hickling Broad, Norfolk

This stunning reserve in the heart of the Norfolk Broads has a mix of open water, reedbed, grazing marsh and woodland. It supports important numbers of Common Crane, Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Hobby and Bearded Tit.
June is the best time to see two local specialities, the Swallowtail butterfly and Norfolk Hawker dragonfly, plus the rare Fen Mason Wasp, once considered extinct in the UK.
