The area is particular good in Spring and early Summer. The reservoirs and moorland offer the opportunity to see upland breeding birds. Species include Ring Ouzel, Cuckoo, Chats, Red Grouse, Peregrine Falcon and breeding waders such as Curlew and Common Sandpiper.
