Car Trip to RSPB Minsmere – 21st October 2022

For the first car trip of the 2022/23 programme, a party of 6 group members headed to RSPB Minsmere. The weather was fair, with some cloud and sunshine, although a bit windy at times. Most importantly, no rain.

Despite work being carried out to the scrapes and the beach hide, it was still a good day’s birding. A total of 51 species were seen or heard during our time at the reserve.

Highlights include a Dartford Warbler in the scrub on the beach, Stonechats (male and female) from the public hide and Bittern, Kingfisher, Hen and Marsh Harrier from the Island Mere hide.
