Stansted Forest 25th April

Eight of us had a very nice walk at Stansted Forest this morning. The weather was nice and the paths were dry (which has been pretty unusual this year!) but the birds were a little reticent. A male Yellowhammer in a tree with a couple of Swallows was a unusual sight, and we had some brief views of Bullfinch, Coal Tit and Siskin, with a number of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps singing. About 30 species were noted. None of us minded the slow birding as the Bluebells are spectacular at this site, and are at their most glorious at the moment.
