About Chesterfield Local Group
Our group exists to promote the aims of the RSPB in our local area in enjoyable ways. We do this by means of education, fundraising and practical conservation. We have illustrated talks about birds and a variety of other natural history subjects, usually on the first Monday of the month.
At least once a month, we also have bird-oriented guided walks in the local area, or visits to nature reserves. We undertake surveys and other practical conservation at Linacre Reservoirs, and to raise funds and awareness we attend local shows and organise collections.
So, contact us if you are in the Chesterfield area and want to help wild birds and learn more about them.

Sick or injured birds
Please note – this volunteer group does not have anyone qualified to deal with sick or injured wildlife. However the RSPB website here has lots of helpful information about what to do and who to contact. The RSPCA website here (England and Wales), are the national charities that help and advise on sick and injured birds and animals. The RSPB is a conservation charity and does not run bird hospitals or a rescue service.
