Guided birding walk at Cheshunt – 18/02/2024

Great crested grebes, Hertfordshire, February (Ben Andrew,

13 people met up after a rainy night on a mild and later sunny day. There were many Tufted Duck and Great Crested Grebes, Cormorants and Black-headed Gulls; a few Shoveler, Pochard, Egyptian Geese, and Teal, and several Red Kites. Water Rail, Reed Bunting and Kingfisher from the Bittern Hide at lunch time. Redwing and Fieldfare, a flock of 30 Siskin, a Buzzard on the ground, a Peacock Butterfly and Muntjac Deer, and a roosting Oystercatcher. We saw Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, and heard Treecreeper and Chiffchaff.
