Big Garden Birdwatch 2023 @ Novers Hill

Join us on Novers Hill for a well-spent hour scouring the skies as part of the world’s largest wildlife survey!

Now in its 44th year, the Big Garden Birdwatch has grown into the world’s largest wildlife survey, with over 137 million birds having been counted since 1979. On Sunday the 29th of January, we’ll be meeting at Novers Hill to make our contribution to this year’s effort.

The premise is simple: we pick our chosen spot, then spend an hour counting everything that comes our way. Lend us your eyes and ears and together let’s see what we can find! Once we’re out of the field we’ll report our results, adding to the nationwide tally and helping conservation scientists to build a picture of the health of the nation’s wild bird populations.

We’ll be meeting on Hartcliffe Way at 10am – you’ll spot us by the banners adorning the fences near the entrance to Novers Hill. Be sure to bring sensible footwear, warm clothing, and something to keep hydrated.

This event is free to attend, although a donate option is available when you book your spot. Places are limited, so be sure to reserve your space via this link. Any donations made go directly the the RSPB Bristol Local Group, contributing to running costs and allowing the group to run future events.
